About

Things worth keeping
are worth fixing.

Re•Store is a restoration platform built by Restorative Labs LLC in Chicago. We started with sneakers because that's where the problem is most obvious.

The problem

There are excellent restoration shops in every city, and almost no way for a normal person to use one with any confidence. You don't know what it should cost. You don't know if the price you were quoted is fair, because nobody told you what condition your pair was actually in. And you have no record of how it looked when you handed it over.

The shops have the mirror-image problem. They quote blind off a phone call and a hopeful description, and eat the difference when the pair turns up worse than described.

What we built

A grading engine that scores four weighted defect attributes — sole wear, creasing, discoloration, material integrity — against reference photographs, so both sides are looking at the same evidence. An open bidding process, so the price comes from a shop that has actually seen your pair. And a payment that is held until the work is done and you've approved it.

None of those three parts is clever on its own. Together they remove the guessing from both sides of the transaction, which is the only reason anyone would trust a stranger with a pair of shoes they care about.

Where we are

  • Sneakers, Chicago metro, with a small number of vetted shops.
  • Courier pickup only at launch. Dropping off at a partner shop is planned, not live.
  • Other categories after footwear works properly — not before.

The company

Restorative Labs LLC is an Illinois limited liability company, formed in November 2025 and based in Chicago. Re•Store is its first product.

savemykicks.com is where Re•Store lives on the web — a plain-English front door to the thing people are actually searching for.
